6 new solar power plants commissioned in MSEDCL's zone

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: To provide an uninterrupted and reliable power supply to farmers for irrigation, six solar power plants were commissioned in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar zone last month under Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana 2.0. It includes 4 in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district and two in the Jalna district. So far, 10 plants providing power supply to more than 13,000 agriculture pumps have been implemented in the zone.

The solar power plants are being set up on land within a 5 km radius of the MSEDCL’s substation. The electricity generated from plants is being supplied to agricultural pumps through the feeders of MSEDCL substations, said Pawankumar Kachhot, Chief Engineer of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar zone.

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district

A 5 MW plant at Rahimabad in Sillod tehsil was commissioned on March 1, and 900 agricultural pumps in Rahimabad and Adsi are benefitting through it. The 4 MW plant at Jodwadi in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar tehsil was commissioned on March 20. The 4 MW plant at Bhaigaon Ganga in Vaijapur tehsil was commissioned on March 28, and 537 agricultural pumps in Bhaigaon Ganga, Undirwadi, Rajura, Pashapur, Rahegaon, Sonwadi are gaining benefit. A 4 MW plant at Wangi in Sillod tehsil was commissioned on March 30, and 850 agricultural pumps of Mangrul, Chandapur and Palod are getting electricity.

Jalna district

A 5 MW plant was commissioned at Khandvi on February 28. A total of 1180 agricultural pumps in 13 villages are benefitting through it. A 4 MW project at Walsa Davargaon in Bhokardan tehsil was commissioned on February 27. It is providing electricity to 952 agricultural pumps in eight villages.

Four Solar Plants Commissioned Previously

In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district (a 3 MW capacity in Dhondalgaon (Vaijapur) benefitted 1753 farmers and a 6 MW capacity at Warkhedi (Phulambri) benefitted, 2215 farmers).

In the Jalna district (a 6 MW capacity at Hiwardi benefitted 2570 agricultural pumps in 30 villages and a 5 MW capacity at Keligavhan (Badnapur) benefitted 1100 agricultural pumps in 6 villages.
