Aurangabad, Feb 9:

An elderly woman, Hasina Begum Dilshad Ahmed, who had returned to her native after 18 years from Pakistan, has died of cardiac arrest today morning. She was 65. The departed soul had arrived in the city on January 26, 2021. The last rites upon her were performed in the city today afternoon.

It may be noted that the resident of Rasheedpura (falling under City Chowk police station) Hasina Begum was married to Dilshad Ahmed of Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh). She had gone to meet her husband's relatives staying in Pakistan in 2004. Incidentally, she lost her passport in Lahore. As a result, she was put behind bars. The departed soul was trying her best to return to her native place. She pleaded her innocence during the hearings in the court of Pakistan. Later on, the Pakistan government sought her information from the Indian government. Accordingly, the local police surveyed and sent a report stating that there is one house in her name at Rasheedpura in Aurangabad (Maharashtra). The lady was then set free from the jail, and she was handed over to the Indian officers in January, this year.

It is learnt that the deceased had purchased a plot of 600 square feet way back in 2000, but she found that it was encroached upon by a land shark. As a result, the deceased Hasina Begum was staying with her nephew. She had lodged a complaint with the commissioner of police (CP) Nikhil Gupta requesting to remove the encroachment, during the last week.
