Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A 69-year-old woman died on the spot after a speeding vehicle hit her, near Shekapur Shivar on Dhule-Solapur National Highway (NH 211) on Saturday at 6.30 am. The unidentified vehicle sped away from the spot after hitting the senior citizen. The deceased has been identified as Afsarabi Shaikh Rahim (Silk Mills Colony).

The deceased’s son Shaikh Azim (37, Railway Station) complained in this regard. He stated that he earns his livelihood by working as a driver. His friend Shaikh Shahrukh telephoned and informed him about the accident on Saturday morning. After the unidentified vehicle sped away from the spot, the citizens rushed Afsarabi to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in a private ambulance. The doctors declared her dead after examination. PSI Raosaheb Kakad is conducting further investigation.
