Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Adhyasana Kendra of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University will organise various competitions from January 12 to 18 as part of the celebration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti.

Director of the centre, Dr Purushottam Deshmukh, said that the competitions include a quiz competition based on the life of Shivcharitra and poetry recitation, elocution, and essay competitions.

A research paper on 'Contribution of Mavalas in the Creation of Swaraj, Rangoli competition on 'Persons and Events in the Creation of Swaraj' will also be arranged. A powada by Shahir Rajendra Kamble will be hosted at the main auditorium on the eve of Shiv Jayanti. A procession of the portrait of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and a lecture by renowned speaker Dr Kedar Phalke will be held on the day of the jayanti.
