Amid the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections, district collector Dilip Swami conducted an on-site inspection of polling centres in Phulambri tehsil on Saturday afternoon. He reviewed operations at centres in Ganori and Murshidabad Wadi and issued necessary instructions to election officials and staff.

The collector assessed voter facilities, security arrangements, law-and-order conditions, and the functioning of electronic voting machines. He also interacted with polling personnel to review voting hours, turnout trends, and technical preparedness, directing officials to ensure smooth and disruption-free polling. Emphasising voter convenience, Swami stressed that the election process should be transparent and conducted in a safe, fear-free environment. He expressed satisfaction with security arrangements while instructing officials to maintain vigilance throughout the polling. Sub-divisional officer and election returning officer Neelam Bafna, tehsildar and assistant returning officer Yogita Khatavkar, and naib tehsildar Sanjeev Raut were present during the visit.
