8 roads including Jalna Road, Beed Bypass closed for small e-rickshaws from May 1

Small e-rickshaws (L-3 category) with a maximum speed of 25 kmph will be banned from operating on eight major roads, including Jalna Road and Beed Bypass, from May 1. These rickshaws will have to operate on routes other than these eight roads for passenger transport. Additionally, the use of meters has been made mandatory.

The decision to restrict L-3 e-rickshaws from major roads and certain busy areas within the municipal limits was taken at a meeting of the Regional Transport Authority held at the District Collector’s office on March 16. Accordingly, the list of the eight restricted roads was announced by the RTO office on Wednesday.

Number of L-3 e-rickshaws in the city

At present, around 90 L-3 category e-rickshaws are operating in the city. These three-wheeler vehicles, with a seating capacity of four passengers, will not be allowed to carry passengers on the specified eight roads from May.

Action against violators

L-3 e-rickshaws will be prohibited on these eight roads from May 1, and strict action will be taken against those violating the rules. The use of meters is also compulsory. Additionally, character verification reports, driving licences, and badges have been made mandatory for drivers.
