Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The municipal corporation's anti-encroachment squad, along with the Nagari Mitra Pathak, initiated action against vendors selling various items on handcarts. On Monday, 85 individuals who had set up handcarts in a way that obstructed traffic on major roads of the city were targeted. Their handcarts were seized by the civic personnel.

Since March 2, the holy month of Ramzan has begun, and the number of fruit and various goods vendors has increased significantly. Last month, the CSMC attempted action on Mukundwadi and Ghati Road. This action was opposed by leaders and workers of a political party, who later staged a protest in front of the municipal corporation. Following that, Congress also held a protest. Despite the opposition, the civic administration continued the action. Every day, operations continue in various parts of the city, with special teams formed by the Corporation for enforcement.

On Monday, the teams carried out actions in various parts of the city and seized 85 handcarts. In the Bajrang Chowk area, vegetable vendors were sitting on the road, and action was also taken against them. A total of 21 crates were seized from them.
