Aurangabad has the biggest government hospital in Marathwada, and poor people from around 15 districts come for treatment here. There is a super specialty ward and treatment facilities; still, the patients have to refrain from the treatment due to the lack of specialist doctors. MP, Imtiyaaz Jaleel, as an intervener, brought this fact to the notice of the bench. He raised the question of whether the medical machinery here is ready to tackle the Corona third possible wave, he said. The bench granted permission to MP Imtiyaaz Jaleel to submitted an independent public interest litigation on the issues raised by him about the facilities and equipment at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
