The classes for standard 9th and 10th will begin in 253 secondary schools within the jurisdiction of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) from January 4.
Education officer (secondary) Dr B B Chavan said that as per the instructions from the AMC administrator, its deputy commissioner asked all teaching and non-teaching staff members of the schools to complete COVID on or before Sunday and submit its report.
It may be noted that the actual classes for standard 9th to 12th resumed in rural areas of the district from November 23.
The AMC administrator had announced that students should attend the classes in schools, and the decision would be taken later as the COVID situation was not under control at that time.
The schools prefer for 50 per cent staff attendance and online education.
Meanwhile, regular classes of class 11th and 12th were resumed from December 15 in the city''s junior colleges.
The process of submission of 10th class examination began. So, SSC students and their parents were waiting for the commencement of the classes.
The education officer held discussions with the administrator Astik Kumar Pande on December 24 for started the classes. The administrator gave the nod to start the classes of 9th and 10.
The headmasters were instructed to complete teaching and non-teaching staffers'' tests before January 3 and submit its report to the administrator by Sunday. The schools will have to follow all COVID measures religiously.
