Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

One of the most auspicious full muhurats of the year, Akshaya Tritiya, has coincided with a Sunday this time, creating a perfect combination for shopping. With this favourable timing, city residents are set to celebrate a ‘shopping festival’, and markets are fully prepared to welcome customers.

Shop anytime throughout the day

There are three and a half highly auspicious muhurats in a year. These include Gudi Padwa, Akshaya Tritiya, and Vijaya Dashami (Dussehra) as the three full muhurats, while Diwali Padwa is considered a half muhurat. This year, Akshaya Tritiya falls on Sunday (April 19). Being a full muhurat, purchases can be made at any time during the day.

How will gold sales respond?

Buying gold on Akshaya Tritiya is considered highly auspicious. However, with gold prices soaring, jewellers are closely watching customer response. New gold designs are entering the market, attracting buyers. Although the bullion market remains closed on Saturdays, gold was quoted at Rs 1,57,500 per 10 grams, while silver was priced at Rs 2,60,000 per kilogram.

Around 250 new property bookings expected

Those who missed purchasing property during Gudi Padwa are now opting to buy on Akshaya Tritiya. It is estimated that around 250 bookings for flats, row houses, bungalows, and shops will take place in the city on this auspicious day. Additionally, about 150 to 200 customers are expected to move into their new homes.

Car deliveries aligned with the auspicious muhurat

Customers who had booked vehicles two months ago are expected to receive delivery of their four-wheelers on Akshaya Tritiya. Due to limited supply, availability of cars has reduced. Meanwhile, rising fuel prices have led to a threefold increase in bookings for electric vehicles. Around 500 cars are expected to be sold in the city, with electric vehicles accounting for nearly 15% of the share.

1,000 new two-wheelers to hit the roads

Approximately 1,000 two-wheelers are expected to be sold in the city on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, including around 200 electric two-wheelers. Sales of electric two-wheelers had increased earlier due to subsidies, and if subsidies are reinstated, the segment is likely to gain further momentum.
