Aurangabad, March 25:

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has decided to conduct an open inquiry of additional tehsildar Kishor Deshmukh, who was caught red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 1.50 lakh from a sand contractor.

Deshmukh was caught red-handed by the ACB while accepting a bribe of Rs 1.50 lakh per month for sand transportation and for verification of royalty receipts and giving a positive report to the police station. After a day in police custody, the court remanded Deshmukh to Harsul Jail on Wednesday. It has come to light again that illegal sand transport is going on without any hindrance from the revenue department officials. After Deshmukh was caught taking bribe, the ACB decided to investigate where and how much property Deshmukh bought from the bribe money. Superintendent of police Dr Rahul Khade said that an inquiry will be held seeking details of Deshmukh's salary and the assets he owns today. If Deshmukh is found to have more assets than his income in this open inquiry, he will be charged with a second charge of amassing disproportionate assets.
