Aurangabad, June 18:

The Economic Offense Wing (EOW) of Pune Police arrested the founder of the Aadarsh Urban Co-operative Credit Society, Ambadas Mankape, on Thursday morning in connection with the Bhaichand Hirachand Raisoni (BHR) credit society financial scam. Hence, there is a panic among the account holders of the Aadarsh society, and they throng to the society since morning to withdraw their money. The account holders, especially the senior citizens, gathered at the credit society since morning. They told the employees of the society that they have come here after reading the news in the newspapers. Many of them had kept their saving in the fixed deposit, and they wanted to withdraw the deposits due to the fear if the society goes bankrupt. Later, the manager highlighted a board outside the society that there is no connection between the news that appeared in the newspapers and the credit society. Hence, the customers should not have any misunderstanding. Still, the customers were standing in the queue. Some were inquiring with the manager. When asked about the number of withdrawals today to the manager Sunil Patil, he said there were very few, but more customers came to deposit the money in the account. A clarification will be given to the media in this regard, he said. The similar situations were witnessed at the credit society’s branches at Hudco and Kokanwadi.
