The NDPS squad had raided a location in February and arrested notorious drug dealers Ajay Thakur and Rani Thakur for selling marijuana and narcotic pills. A case was registered against them under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) at Satara Police Station.

In connection with this case, the NDPS squad has now arrested a fugitive accused, Deepak Charansingh Malke (resident of Naregaon, Baluch Galli) on Thursday. Police Inspector Geeta Bagwade provided this information.

Following the MCOCA charges against Ajay Thakur and his associates, Malke had been on the run. Upon receiving intelligence about his presence in the Naregaon area, a team led by PI Geeta Bagwade, along with PSI Amol Mhaske, Constables Lala Khan Pathan, Sandeep Jadhav, Sandipan Dharme, Nitesh Sundarde, Mahesh Ugle, Vijay Tribhuvan, Kalyan Nikam, Chhaya Landge, and Shilpa Telore, set up a trap and arrested him. The accused has been handed over to the Osmanpura Police.
