Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: “After the three-tier structure of Panchayat Raj, political leadership developed on a large scale in rural areas. However, administration and politicians have always been obstacles for social leadership developed,,” said Krishna Bhoge, the former Divisional Commissioner.

He was speaking in the seminar organised by Sant Gadge Baba Rural Problems Research Centre, local branchof 'Indian Institute of Public Administration' and Department of Political Science of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) on Wednesday.

Krishna Bhoge said that all the sources of development are still in the hands of the State-Central Governments, while decentralisation of power has not been done in the true sense.

Administrative officers, NGO representatives and dignitaries from the academic and research fields participated in it. M M Semwal (Uttarakhand) inaugurated the seminar.

Bloc Development Officer Ratnakar Pagar, Gramsevak Vivekanand Giri and talathi Ravi Lokhande participated in the first session.

Dr Shuja Shakir, Registrar, Dr Prashant Amritkar, Prof. Laxmikant Kurangal, Dr Abhijit Pilkhane were present.
