Aurangabad, April 7:

The draw of lots for admissions on 3,625 seats reserved in 603 schools of the district under the Right to Education Act (RTE) was held at State Council of Educational Research and Training office, Pune, on Wednesday through videoconferencing.

A total of 25 per cent seats are reserved under RTE for children belonging to the social and economically weaker section of society. The admission process was halted for a short time due to the rise in COVID patients.

Education officer Surajprasaj Jaiswal said that the process of sending a text message of seat allotment would start from April 15. A total of 11,861 parents submitted online application up to March 30 to get admission to their children.

He said parents would have to complete the documents verification and other processes on time on the basis of the messages sent on their registered mobile number since it is not being done on the local level.
