Adv Vijaya Vasantrao Dankh (80, Samarthnagar), passed away on Tuesday night after a brief illness. Her funeral procession began on Wednesday morning from Pride Century, Pannalal Nagar, and the last rites were performed at the Pushpanagari crematorium.

She had served as a trustee of Matoshri Old Age Home in Samarthnagar and was also a member of the Bar Association. She is survived by two sons, a daughter, daughters-in-law, son-in-law col. P. Haresh Kumar, and grandchildren. She was the mother of adv Sachin Dankh and adv Ashutosh Dankh. Several dignitaries from the political, social, educational, legal and medical fields attended the funeral. Among them were former minister Rajendra Darda, former MP Chandrakant Khaire, Anil Save and Ajit Save representing minister Atul Save, and former mayor Nandkumar Ghodele, among others.
