Agitation on Kargil Vijay Diwas for pending issues of retired soldiers

Aurangabad, July 4:

Retired brigadier Sudhir Sawant at a press conference warned of an agitation on Kargil Vijay Diwas to protest against the government's apathy about the jobs and allotting other benefits to retired soldiers.

Sainik federation president Sawant is on a tour of Maharashtra to know about the problems of soldiers. On Sunday he interacted with retired soldiers in Aurangabad. Sawant said that attacks on soldiers and their problems are not being resolved hence the federation is trying to set up a vigilance committee for soldiers at every tehsil level. It takes three to four years for recruitment of ex-servicemen in various sectors. Ex-servicemen should be recruited in police, revenue services and schools. The federation members said that the issues of soldiers are deliberately kept unresolved. When a soldier is martyred, leaders come to pay their respects to his family. They make false promises. Questions of the martyr's family are pending. The basic issues of the soldiers should be sorted out, otherwise no political leaders will be allowed to come to pay homage to the martyred soldiers. Vice president Deepak Raje Shirke, Sheikh Rafiq, D M Nibalkar, Anil Satav, Babasaheb Jadhav, Gajanan Pimple and others were present.
