Aurangabad, May 29:

Noted educationist and chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Prof Anil D Sahasrabudhe will be the chief guest for the 61st convocation ceremony of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) to be held online on June 25.

Vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole said that the university started all preparations for the ceremony.

Governor and chancellor of the universities Bhagat Singh Koshyari will preside over the ceremony. Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant will be the guest of honour for the programme.

Director of Board of Examinations and Evaluation Dr Yogesh Patil said that VC Dr Pramod Yeole, Pro-VC Dr Shyam Shirsath, registrar Dr Jaishree Suryavanshi, all management council members and deans would also grace the event.

A meeting to set up different committees would be held in the first week of June month.

Bamu started inviting application from candidates to receive the degree on Convocation Day.

Those candidates who have completed graduate, postgraduate, M Phil and Ph D in October-November 2019 and March-April 2020 session are only eligible to apply up to June 10.

The students who have already submitted degree application form along with examinations application forms need not apply again.

In the past, BAMU invited the then vice-chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC), Dr Bhushan Patwardhan, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and director of National Chemical Laboratory, Dr Ashwini Kumar Nangia, as the chief guests for the ceremonies of the 59th and 60th convocation day.
