Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

“Several BJP corporators in the city also own unauthorised properties. Complaints regarding these properties had already been submitted to the municipal corporation in March. Why has no action been taken against them so far?” questioned AIMIM state president Imtiaz Jaleel, who visited the municipal corporation headquarters on Wednesday afternoon to submit evidence relating to the alleged illegal constructions.

He presented all documents, complaints, and supporting evidence to municipal commissioner Amol Yedge. The commissioner assured him that the anti-encroachment and town planning sections would verify the complaints and that strict action would be taken if any violations were found. ‘No one will be spared,’ he said.

After the demolition of three properties belonging to AIMIM corporator Matin Patel in Naregaon, Jaleel arrived at the municipal headquarters along with party corporators and office-bearers. He met the civic chief Yedge and later told the media that certain corporators from the ruling BJP also possessed unauthorised properties.

Jaleel said that he had submitted official documents, reports, and evidence provided by municipal officials in support of these allegations. He added that commissioner Yedge had assured him that action would be taken against all violators. ‘If no action is taken, we will seek justice through the courts,’ he stressed.

Speaking to the media after the meeting with Jaleel, Commissioner Yedge said that Matin Patel’s three unauthorised properties had been demolished in accordance with regulations. He confirmed that the documents submitted by Jaleel would now be examined by the town planning section, and if the complaints were found to have merit, appropriate action would follow.
