Aurangabad, Sept 25:
A farmer’s family, attempting to commit suicide at the divisional commissionerate for not getting the compensation from the government, was saved by the alertness of the police by taking them in custody on Friday afternoon.
According to the details, Goraksh Uttamrao Kudke’s (55, Pithi, Patoda, Beed) land was acquired by the government for road. However, he had not received the compensation of the land. The Beed district collectorate submitted a proposal to the divisional commissionerate for getting the compensation. However, the government has decided not to give compensation for the road at the tehsil level. Hence, Goraksh did not receive the compensation. Thus, he and his wife Archana with 18 years old daughter came to the commissionerate on Friday intending to commit suicide by consuming poison. The police realized the situation and immediately took all of them in custody. They snatched the bottle of poison from the pocket of the farmer. PI Sambhaji Pawar said, the farmer’s family was consoled and they assured in writing that they will not commit suicide.
