The police have admitted a young woman, who was found wandering in a destitute condition near the Gajanan Maharaj temple area in Harsul, to a social organisation. Due to the lack of timely counselling and neglect of her mental health, the woman became estranged from her family at a young age. She was unable to provide any information about her family. A medical examination revealed that she was suffering from mental health issues.
On Tuesday, an unidentified young woman was found shouting loudly in a destitute condition during the Gajanan Maharaj temple week-long programme. The temple trustees submitted a written complaint to the Harsul police station. Acting on the information, the Harsul police reached the spot and conducted a preliminary inquiry. However, the woman was not communicating. She was immediately taken to a government hospital, where a medical examination confirmed mental health-related problems.
Shelter at Manuski Sevalaya
During the preliminary inquiry, the woman identified herself as Madhuri Baburao Bachhire (26), a resident of Mantha Chaufali, Jalna. The police admitted her to Manuskhi Vruddha Sevalaya, run by Su-Lakshmi Multi-purpose Charitable Organisation, for temporary shelter. After gaining her confidence and speaking to her with care, the institution’s staff learnt that she had been living in a hostel in Jalna. However, she could not provide any information about her parents. The police are currently searching for her relatives.
Under the guidance of commissioner of police Pravin Pawar, police inspector Swati Kedar, Ganesh Kedar, Shakeel Sheikh, assistant police inspector Jaylal Rathod, Shaikh Rahim, Rakesh Deshmukh, constable Nirmala Kolte, along with Manuski Vruddha Sevalaya members Pooja and Sumit Pandit, Kartik Wagh, extended help to the young woman.
