The 47th Pranpratishtha Divas of the idol of Lord Shantinath at the Khandelwal Digambar Jain Panchayat Parshwanath Temple in Rajabazar was celebrated with enthusiasm on Monday. MLAs, the mayoral candidate, deputy mayoral candidate, and newly elected corporators from all political parties came together to offer prayers and seek blessings.
Under the guidance of Munishri Prabhavsagarji Maharaj, the programme began in the morning with the hoisting of the religious flag, followed by Panchamrit Abhishek and Shantividhan. Later, Sarva Jain Samaj president Rajendra Darda felicitated mayoral candidate Sameer Rajurkar, deputy mayoral candidate Rajendra Janjal, and newly elected corporators from all parties. Minister Atul Save and justice Kailaschand Chandiwal were present. All dignitaries bowed at the feet of Lord Shantinath and offered prayers. Munishri Prabhavsagarji Maharaj also spoke about the life and teachings of Lord Shantinath.
Rajendra Darda said that the idol of Lord Shantinath was consecrated in the temple in 1979 under the guidance of Acharya Siddhasensagarji Maharaj, with the initiative of a few city families. Today, the next generation of those families is also actively involved in social service. He noted that while the Jain community was small at the time, it has now grown into a strong and flourishing community. Jain Panchayat president Mahavir Patni shared the history of the temple and recalled old memories.
Mahavir Thole, adv Yatin Thole, Kiran Pahade, Santosh Sethi, Sanjay Pahade, Kavita Ajmera, Vilas Sahuji, Sanjay Sancheti, Amol Mogle, Dr Prakash Jhambad, Vilas Jogi and Kaushik Surana, among others, worked for the success of the event.
Felicitation of all-party corporators
Newly elected corporators Raju Vaidya, Trimbak Tupe, Anita Mankape, Nandlal Gavali, Archana Neelkanth, Mahesh Malwadkar, Sumitra Matre, Govind Kendre, Naveen Oberoi, Sachin Khaire, Kishor Nagre, Madhuri Adwant, Kamal Thorat and Shobha Burade were felicitated.
Jain community’s significant contribution to city’s development
The entire Jain community has made a major contribution to the development of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Through Jain temples, several religious and social activities are conducted throughout the year. We prayed at the feet of Lord Shantinath for strength for all public representatives to build a developed city.
