Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Guardian Minister and Shinde Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat said that a decision regarding an alliance with the BJP would be taken after consulting MP Sandipan Bhumre, rural MLAs and district office-bearers.

Guardian Minister Shirsat was speaking to the media on Monday. He said that in view of the Zilla Parishad (ZP) and Panchayat Samiti (PS) elections, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde held a meeting in Mumbai yesterday.

“In that meeting, he (Shinde) instructed that alliances should be formed with the BJP wherever possible. As a result, a meeting with the BJP is being held today. For this, discussions have taken place over the phone with Minister Atul Save and Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule,” he said.

Responding to a question, he said there is no doubt that the Mahayuti would have a mayor in the Municipal Corporation.

Uddhav Sena leader Chandrakant Khaire has told reporters that he would take complete charge of the ZP elections. When asked about this, Shirsat said it is an internal matter of the Uddhav Sena. He said that one thing is certain: the Uddhav Sena is being wiped out.

“Some people from Paithan have joined the BJP. Now, the question before the Uddhav Sena is how to run the party. If Khaire is taking charge of the elections, we are happy; however, all the water has already flowed away. What will happen now by taking charge of the reins?”, Guardian Minister Shirsat remarked, taking a jibe at Uddhav Sena leader Chandrakant Khaire.
