Aurangabad, Dec 23:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has lodged a complaint against a bogus medical practitioner Dr Nayan Dhali, who was practising at Savitrinagar in Chikalthana, on Tuesday.

It so happened that the AMC health section received a complaint that a lady doctor has set up Durgamata Clinic in Savitrinagar at Chikalthana and is treating patients suffering from fishers, fistula etc. Acting upon the complaint, the municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar ordered the medical officer concern to conduct an inspection and verify the credentials of the above practising doctor. Accordingly, the medical officer of PHC (Chikalthana) submitted the report.

The complaint was lodged by the medical officer of the primary health centre (Chikalthana) Dr Archana Rane with Chikalthana police station on December 22, 2020. The bogus lady doctor has been booked under section 419-420 of IPC and section 33, 33A and 36 of Maharashtra Medical Practitioners Act 1961, stated the release issued by MoH.

It may be noted that the AMC had constituted a committee to crack down on quacks in the city. The dedicated committee had its last meeting under the headship of the additional commissioner on November 10, 2020. The health officials were ordered to file police cases against the bogus doctors.
