AMC fines irresponsible citizens; seals hotel

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation''s (AMC) Nagrik Mitra Pathak has collected a fine of Rs 57,000 from the violators in the past two days.

The AMC implemented the drive on Monday and Tuesday. The squads collected fines of Rs 1900 for spitting on the road, Rs 20,000 from 40 persons for not wearing masks, Rs 1500 from persons throwing garbage on roads, Rs 6,500 for not clearing garbage lying in front of the shops, Rs 15,000 from vegetable and fruit vendors for using plastic carry bags etc. The team also levied Rs 5,000 fine on Mukund Das Jain of Machhali Khadak after the team found banned plastic from his possession, Rs 5,000 fine on Sunil Kale of Cidco N-5 for spreading building material on the road.

AMC seals hotel

The AMC today sealed a portion of Hotel Riviera (Bar and Restaurant), situated on Jalna Road, after the owner failed to pay property tax of Rs 4.03 lakh, despite issuing reminders, in the past. A Covid Care Centre is functioning in the hotel. Under the guidance of the assessor and collector of tax Nandkishore Bhombe, the ward officer Mahaveer Patni and the recovery team took action.
