Aurangabad, Dec 28:

Acting upon the union Government''s fresh directives, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is sending all the citizens returning from different foreign countries including England, on seven days quarantine, from tomorrow. The civic administration has arranged free of cost stay in M.C.E.D Guest House (in Railway Station MIDC area). The AMC will also arrange staying in the hotel on a payment basis if anybody demands.

After receiving the Centre''s orders to quarantine persons returning from foreign for seven days, the district collector and the acting municipal commissioner Sunil Chavan called an emergency meeting and gave necessary instructions about implementation.

The persons returning from foreign are not permissible to stay at their homes. They will have to spend their quarantine period either in the guest house or hotel (on demand). The AMC will conduct their RT-PCR test on the fifth day of the stay. If the report is negative, then they would be allowed to go home. Besides, these citizens will have to further quarantine themselves for 14 more days in their homes as a measure.

The municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar said," We have the list of 47 citizens who returned from foreign. Of them, two had reported as Covid-19 positive and 29 as negatives. Meanwhile, we had succeeded in tracing the five persons who were untraced so far. Of these five, two are in the city, two are out of the district, and one had returned to foreign. Apart from this, six citizens had returned to Britain, while the remaining five are in other districts."
