Aurangabad, Dec 29:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) recommended home quarantine to 29 citizens reported as Covid-19 negative, after returning from England. However, the health officials clarified that they would be under their observation for 28 days.

It may be noted that 47 persons had returned to the city from England between November 25 and December 25, 2020. The state government had directed the AMC to conduct RT-PCR tests of them. Of all, 33 persons stay in the city. Hence, the AMC conducted RT-PCR tests of 31 persons and detected two (one 57-year-old woman and one 29-year-old youth) as positive. The remaining two persons underwent testing today (Tuesday). Meanwhile, the AMC had sent 29 Covid-19 negatives on home quarantine, while the two previous Covid-19 positives are undergoing treatment in different hospitals and the reports of two persons tested today will receive by tomorrow.

It may be noted that, out of the remaining 14, six persons had returned to England, seven are from other districts and one had gone out of the station.

Meanwhile, the health administration has underlined that it will quarantine foreign returnees (apart from 47), in the MCED Guest House (in Railway Station MIDC area) arriving in the city. The AMC will also arrange quarantine in the hotel on a payment basis.
