The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has developed a novel idea to motivate its officials and personnel involved in collecting or recovering taxes (including property and water). The civic administration will declare the outstanding employee as ''Person of the Week'' from each zone.
There are nine zones in the jurisdiction of AMC. Hence the cash-strapped civic body had focussed on enhancing the collection of taxes. The employee collecting maximum tax money from his zone will be shortlisted as Person of the Week. The AMC administration will reward him by felicitating at public functions organised on special occasions like Republic Day (January 26), Labour Day (May 1) and Independence Day (August 15), said the sources.
