Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

IAS officer Amol Yedge, formerly district collector of Kolhapur and a 2014 batch officer, has been transferred as the commissioner of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation on Thursday. Known as an efficient administrator with a sensitive approach, Yedge has a firm grip on governance. He has left his mark in sectors including arts, sports, education, tourism, and health. The state government has entrusted him with the special responsibility of overseeing the municipal corporation. Hailing from a farming family in Karad, Amol Yedge completed his IAS training in Jalgaon. He has served in key administrative roles in Hingoli and Nashik, including as additional district collector and project officer of tribal development projects, and as chief executive officer in Beed and Amravati. Under his leadership, Kolhapur achieved top ranks in the state’s ambitious 100- and 150-day development initiatives. He also ensured effective implementation of the Service Guarantee Act and was specially awarded by the state government for these projects. The government has now given him the opportunity to serve as the 31st Commissioner of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation. With the BJP gaining complete control over the municipal body for the first time, Yedge’s appointment is aimed at advancing various development projects and completing pending initiatives. He also brings valuable administrative experience from his tenure in Beed and Hingoli.
