Due to not receiving the market fee in the last three months, the Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) in Jadhavwadi has suffered a financial loss of Rs 17.35 lakh. The Central government deregulated agricultural commodities. It means if anyone buys agricultural produce outside the APMC, he will not have to pay the market fee. The traders already started the implementation of this.

The market committee was collecting the market fee of Rs 1.5 per cent which stopped coming and in July, August and September. The market committee had to bear a loss of Rs 17.35 lakh as compared to the previous year. The market fee was Rs 4.61 lakh less in July, Rs 6.40 lakh lakh in August and Rs 6.33 lakh less in September.

All eyes on state govt

Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar has said that the three bills approved by the Centre will not be implemented. The market committee has started charging fees again from October 3. All eyes are on the decision of the state government on October 27. Because, if the government refuses to implement the central bill, the APMC can recover the previous market fee from the traders.
