Aurangabad, Dec 9:

The Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL) has appealed to the architects, designers, engineers, students etc. to send designs of roads they dreamt of having them in the city on http://www.aurangabadsmartcity.in or https://smartnet.niua.org/indiastreetchallenge/cities/aurangabad. The last date to send the road designs through online is December 17.

As reported earlier, the ASCDCL, under ''Streets for People Challenge'' - a programme which is a part of Smart City Mission, has decided to develop four roads on a pilot basis. They include Paithan Gate to Gulmandi, Kranti Chowk to Gopal Tea House Circle, Cannaught Place (Cidco) and the one passing between MGM Hospital and Priyadarshini Garden. Hence the ASCDCL is seeking people''s participation in developing these roads by announcing a competition, which is open to all.

The assistant project manager (ASCDCL) Sneha Mohan Nair said, " The best designs received by ASCDCL in the competition will be selected and rewarded. The aim is to develop citizens-friendly roads with their participation and as per their dreams. The project will also focus on adequate parking, hawkers zone, green belts, sitting benches on the side of the road and its beautification in totality."
