Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The Asmita League, organised on the occasion of International Women’s Day to promote awareness about sports among women and to create more opportunities for women from both urban and rural areas, was inaugurated by union minister of state for youth affairs and sports Raksha Khadse. She appealed to women to participate in sports in large numbers.

Various sports competitions for women were organised at the divisional sports complex ground. Khadse flagged off the cycle race and walkathon during the event.

District collector Deelip Swami, Sports Authority of India (SAI) director Dr Monika Ghughe, district sports officer Shekhar Patil, Vikram Jadhav, sports officers, staff members and a large number of women athletes were present on the occasion.
