Aurangabad, Nov 5:

An assistant public prosecutor is named in the list of the absconding criminals issued by the police. The police called him and he took the stand that he is not the person they are searching. However, when the police gave him evidences, he admitted that he is the same person.

The Kranti Chowk police, a few years back had booked some Shiv Sena activitists for participating in an agitation. The police arrested the activists and submitted chargesheet in the court against them. However, one activist, Raju Pahadiya did not appear before the court. The court issued summons against him and later issued an arrest warrant. Moreover, the court declared him absconder as the police submitted in the court that Pahadiya could not be found.

When the list of the absconding criminals was received, DCP Nikesh Khatmode Patil issued orders to the Kranti Chowk police to find Raju Pahadiya. During investigation, it was found that the absconding suspect is an assistant public prosecutor in the district court. The police called him for inquiry but initially he denied that he is same person that the police are looking for. When the police presented the evidence, he clarified that he was present there as the lawyer of the agitators. The senior officers have directed to present the suspect in the court and complete the procedure, the sources said.

Meanwhile, DCP, Nikesh Khatmode Patil said, some public prosecutor and government officers names were found in the list when we were searching for the absconding accused. We are trying to present them before the court and reduce the names in the list, he said.
