Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: In a welcoming decision, Maharashtra's splendour and luxurious train - Deccan Odyssey - will be arriving tomorrow (February 2).

There are 28 passengers on-board. The guests will de-board at 1.30 pm and proceed to see Daulatabad Fort and world heritage Ellora Caves.

According to sources, “The guests of Deccan Odyssey will reach the heritage Sunehri Mahal and attend the inaugural function of the three-day long Ellora Ajanta International Festival in the evening. The first day event comprises classical dance performances by renowned performers like Dr Sandhya Purecha. The semi-classical songs will also be presented at the festival.”

Earlier, the Deputy Director (Tourism) has already announced that the passengers of the Deccan Odyssey will be given free entry tickets to attend the grand cultural festival.

It may be noted that the newspaper (Lokmat Times) was the first to publish the news stating that the Deccan Odyssey passengers (domestic and international) will not be attending the festival as the operator of the luxury train was not scheduled to operate the train till March 30. Taking cognizance of it, the office-bearers of Ellora Ajanta International Festival Committee started correspondence with the State Government and private operator of the train. Later on, the managing director (MD) of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) and the deputy director (tourism) once again served reminders stating to operate the train connecting the festival.
