Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Following the Kalda Corner land case, the driver of a MP has allegedly carried out another fraudulent act by submitting a fabricated ‘Hibanama’ (gift deed) in an attempt to misappropriate compensation amounting to approximately ₹1,150 crore for 23 acres and 3 gunthas of land acquired for the Samruddhi Expressway at Jogwada–Jatwada, alleged former leader of the opposition (LoP) Ambadas Danve at a press conference organised on Tuesday.

He informed journalists that a demand has been made to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister for an inquiry into the matter through the CID.

Uddhav Sena leader Danve said that during 2016–17, the government acquired land from various villages for the Samruddhi Expressway project. Among these was 23 acres and 3 gunthas of land from Gut No. 174 at Jatwada–Jogwada, which was recorded under the remark ‘restricted tenure holder’. The land was acquired by the land acquisition officer and transferred to the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) for the expressway project. The present market value of this land is approximately ₹1,150 crore.

Lata Suryabhan Waghmare and nine others have applied to the district administration claiming to be the lawful heirs of the land and seeking compensation. According to their application, the land had been granted in 1957 in the name of their great-grandfather Pawanya Bhika Waghmare under a certificate issued by the Hyderabad State Tribunal. After his death, the land remained fallow for several years. In government records, it was marked as ‘restricted landholder’. The tehsil office took possession of the land and transferred it to MSRDC in 2017.

Regarding this very land, it has been alleged that Javed Rasul Shaikh, the MP’s driver, attempted to claim compensation by asserting rights under a 1971 ‘hibanama’ purportedly issued through the Nizam State, alleged Danve during the press conference.

Javed Rasul born in 1985 – how can the hibanama be from 1971?

According to his Aadhaar card, Javed Rasul Shaikh, the MP’s driver, was born in 1985. However, he has claimed that the land was granted to him through a hibanama in 1971. This indicates that the document may have been fabricated solely to misappropriate crores of rupees in compensation, Danve told mediapersons.

Demand for inquiry to CM and DyCM

Danve further said that this attempt to misappropriate approximately ₹1,150 crore through forged documents is allegedly being carried out in collusion with officials. Applications regarding the matter were submitted last year. He said that a serious note of the issue has been sought and a demand has been made for a CID inquiry to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
