Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A father and son were kidnapped and assaulted by three men in the Ektanagar area late on April 3. The duo was forcibly taken on a two-wheeler by the accused under the pretext of going to the police station. The son was left injured at Beed Bypass, while the father was beaten brutally in Jalannagar. Two suspects have been arrested, and a case of attempted murder has been registered with 3 3-day PCR.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Salman Shaikh and Mustaqeem Sayyed, both residents of Ektanagar, Itkheda. A third accomplice is currently absconding. The case was registered at Satara Police Station based on a complaint filed by Shabana Jameel Pathan. According to the FIR, the accused knocked on the door of Jameel Musa Pathan around midnight. When he stepped out with his son Rehan, the suspects confronted them, asking aggressively why they had knocked earlier. Claiming they needed to visit the police station, they forced both onto their vehicle. Rehan was first taken to the Beed Bypass area and severely beaten before being left behind. Jameel was then driven to Jalannagar and attacked mercilessly. He suffered heavy head injuries and was later found and brought home by a local acquaintance, Sufiyan Pathan. He is currently undergoing treatment in the ICU at GMCH. Following the incident, Satara Police swiftly launched an investigation under the supervision of Police Inspector Sangram Tate. Investigating Officer Amol Kamthe arrested the two main accused, who have been remanded to three days of police custody by the court. Police efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the third accused.
