A history-sheeter was critically injured after two men allegedly stabbed him following a late-night altercation in Vishrantinagar around 2 am on February 7.

The victim, Ritesh Kurhade (18), sustained stab injuries to the abdomen, chest and waist. The accused Bunty Autowala of Hanumannagar and Nitin Thokale of Mukundwadi fled the spot after the attack. Police said the dispute began when the accused tried to forcibly engage Kurhade in conversation and escalated into a scuffle, during which he was stabbed multiple times. Kurhade was rushed to hospital by his mother. Police said both accused are autorickshaw drivers with criminal records. Kurhade also has cases of attempted murder and robbery registered against him. A search is on to trace the absconding accused, said police inspector Ashok Bhandare.
