Sessions Judge N.M. Jamadar sentenced three men to life imprisonment and imposed a Rs 20,000 fine each, payable to the victim, for attacking a youth with a cricket bat, iron rod, and sticks.

The accused are Shaikh Azhar (18, Ganeshnagar, Padegaon), Ajay Maske (18), and Akash Maske (23, both from Sailaninagar, Padegaon).

Incident: On July 10, 2018, Pramod Ramkrishna Hivarale’s son, Sagar (Mitmita), was called by the accused to resolve an old dispute. Upon arrival, Sagar was assaulted hit on the head with a cricket bat, then with a rod, while others beat him with sticks leaving him seriously injured. The case was registered at Chhawani police station.

Court Findings: Testimonies, eyewitness accounts, and medical reports confirmed 12 injuries, including life-threatening head wounds. The court observed that over five people were involved, and the attack was premeditated. The use of lethal weapons confirmed intent to kill, establishing attempted murder beyond doubt.
