The residents of the ‘Aura Village’ in Satara area face severe inconvenience as the area is surrounded by water for the whole year due to the apathy of the civic authorities.
The residents had been complaining to the civic chiefs for years about lack of civic amenities. However, no action has been taken by the authority to provide basic amenities here. Several government and semi-government organizations employees stay in this area and hence they can''t agitate for facilities.
The roads at various localities in Satara area are being concretized. Similarly, an announcement was also made to provide drinking water and drainage facilities. However, the authorities have not resolved even the issue of sewage management here. The residents said that they pay the tax but have not received the facilities yet. The water is accumulated in this area throughout the year, causing a severe health hazard for them. The authorities should take immediate measures for it, demanded Swati Deshpande, Dhanashree Deshpande, Nitin Wayal, Vidyadhar Pathak, Vishwas Jogdand and others.
