Auric City is poised for significant growth, with union Minister Piyush Goyal announcing a threefold expansion that will generate over 2 lakh jobs in the coming years. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he outlined ambitious plans, including a Skill Development Center and a Startup Incubation Hub, aimed at strengthening the industrial and entrepreneurial ecosystem of the city.

Major Investments and Infrastructure Boost

Four major companies have committed to investing ₹60,000 crore in Auric, reinforcing its position as a prime industrial hub. To meet the workforce demand, a 20,000 sq. ft. Skill Development Center will be set up in Shendra Auric, while a 10,000 sq. ft. Startup Incubation Hub will support new businesses, particularly in women entrepreneurship, sustainability, and advanced technology. Goyal highlighted the strategic importance of Auric City, India’s first Greenfield Industrial Smart City, and emphasized that its plug-and-play infrastructure, seamless connectivity, and sustainability-driven approach will attract investments exceeding ₹63,000 crore.

The minister assured that the government would implement a fast-track approval system for industries, ensuring swift clearances and hassle-free operations. International Convention Center Proposal

When asked about an International Convention Center, Goyal mentioned that local entrepreneurs had proposed it in Shendra Auric. However, he stressed the need for a feasibility study before proceeding, stating, “A thorough assessment of the number of exhibitions held annually should be conducted before finalizing the proposal to ensure judicious use of public funds.” Furthermore, hospitals, housing, universities, schools, and clubhouses for workers will also be developed. We are striving to make Auric the pride of Maharashtra and India. We will also discuss acquiring more land for Auric with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis,” he said. The press conference was attended by MP Dr Bhagwat Karad, MLA Anuradha Chavan, MP Sandipan Bhumare, Minister Atul Save, and BJP City President Shrish Bolarkar, who expressed their support for the initiatives aimed at transforming Auric City into a leading investment and employment hub.
