From March 1, industries in the Shendra Industrial Zone of Auric City a joint ambitious project of the central and state governments will receive power supply from MITL (Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited) instead of Mahavitaran. MITL has submitted a proposal to the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) for multi-year tariff determination, with a decision expected by April 1.

MITL has received a power distribution license from MERC and, as an independent power distribution company, has started supplying electricity to industries, commercial establishments, and residential areas in the Auric Shendra industrial zone from today. Previously, Mahavitaran supplied electricity to industries in this region. However, from today, MITL will take over power distribution. To facilitate this transition, an underground power cable network has been installed, along with dedicated power stations and substations. Additionally, Auric has appointed an external agency to manage the power distribution system. The underground power distribution network in Auric is SCADA-compatible, enabling real-time monitoring of all consumers. A customer service centre has been set up to provide 24/7 assistance, ensuring quick resolution of electricity-related issues.
