Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: “Balance of freedom and equality is achieved in parliamentary democracy. That is why Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar consistently insisted on Constitutional ethics,” said Dr Surendra Jondhale, political science scholar.

He was speaking in the Prof. Moin Shakir Memorial Lecture Series on 'Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Indian Constitution and Nation Building’ was organised by the Political Science Department of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University on Monday.

Head of Department of Political Science and Registrar Dr Prashant Amrutkar presided over the function.

Dr Surendra Jondhale said efforts were made to inculcate the concept of 'National Socialism' while building the nation.

“Dr Ambedkar formulated the Constitution by putting forward the four principles of liberty, equality, fraternity and social justice. If the importance of Indian democracy is to be preserved, public upliftment is necessary and importance should be given to social consciousness,” he added.
