Aurangabad, Dec 21:
“Many students failed to put their permanent registration number (PRN) on the answer sheet during the summer 2020 examinations conducted by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) in October. The university adopted a single method for both online and offline examinations system. Some students opted both the system while others appeared for one subject for twice or thrice.
This created confusion during evaluation. Because of which, the result of 18,000 was withheld,” the probe committee found this.
On receiving complaints from students and college, vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole set up a seven-member committee led by the dean of
Commerce and Management Science Faculty Dr Walmik Sarwade.
The panel found the causes of reserved results (RR). Students and invigilators who were on offline examinations duty made mistakes.
One of the panel members said that students put their signature on Optical Mark Reader (OMR) sheet but did not write their PRN while others put their PRN number without a signature. The invigilators have not paid attention that students have not put their signature. He said that this created difficulties in result preparations.
“The PRN number, signature, students and application of students was sought from colleges concerned. This will help to match students answer books,” he said.
The university succeeded in declaring the result of 13,000 students out of 18,000.
The committee comprises member secretary is director of Board of Examinations and Evaluation Dr Yogesh Patil, members-Dr Chetna Sonkamble, Dr Bhalchandra Waykar, Dr Laxmikant Shinde, Dr Vilas Khandare and Dr Dadasaheb Gajhans.
