Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) has issued a stern warning to teachers who are avoiding their answer book evaluation responsibilities, as results of summer session examinations must be declared within a legally mandated 30-day.

The university kicked off its undergraduate summer session examinations on April 7, 2026, followed by postgraduate examinations on April 16. To handle the evaluation workload, dedicated district and divisional assessment centers have been set up across Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, and Dharashiv districts, all of which are currently operational.

Despite custodians of these centers having already dispatched official appointment letters to eligible teachers, university officials say a significant number of faculty members from various colleges and institutions have simply not shown up for evaluation duty, a development the university describes as deeply concerning given the tight statutory deadline.

Under Section 89 of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016, universities are legally required to publish examination results within 30 days of the last examination date, leaving little room for delays in the evaluation process.

In response, BAMU has directed all college principals to relieve assigned teachers on a full-time basis within two days of receiving evaluation orders.

Action on the cards

The university has made it clear that non-compliance will not be taken lightly. Principals who fail to relieve teachers, as well as teachers who continue to skip evaluation duty, will face disciplinary action under Section 48(4) of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016, which deals with dereliction of duty in examination-related work.
