Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: At Barapulla Gate, a vertical garden developed by the municipal corporation at a cost of several lakhs of rupees caught fire on Saturday at around 4.30 pm.

The garden, built a few years ago near the Barapulla Gate area, was being well maintained by the civic body. According to officials, the fire was triggered due to a short circuit in an electric pole located adjacent to the garden.

The blaze spread to nearby areas of the garden, damaging plastic pots and plants.
