Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
History came alive in the old lanes of Begumpura on Sunday as over 250 citizens joined the 'Begumpura Heritage Walk,' organised by the Municipal Corporation and INTACH's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Chapter.
Starting at the historic Thatte Hauz a remarkable example of ancient water management participants explored hidden structures and old temples, learning about the Thatte family's contribution to the city. The walk also offered a glimpse into the Mughal-era grandeur hidden within the walls of the magnificent Patel Wada, while Dr Hansraj Dongre highlighted the unique heritage of Kumbhar Galli (Potter's Lane). The walk, aimed at preserving heritage and building cultural awareness, was guided by INTACH members Sanket Kulkarni and Aditya Waghmare, with mayor Sameer Rajurkar, municipal commissioner Amol Yedge, deputy commissioner Ankush Pandhare, and INTACH convenor Maya Vaidya among those present.
