On December 25, Cidco branch of ISKCON Aurangabad had organised ‘Gita tula’ to mark Gita Jayanti. On this day, many devotees sponsored Bhagvad Gitas equal to their weight. Devotees decided to distribute these Bhagavad Gita copies in jail, old age home and orphanages. They sought permission from Harsul Jail authorities for the initiative.

‘Hare Krishna’ kirtan performed by ISKCON devotees brought new life to the jail. Copies of Marathi translation of most widely distributed Bhagvad Gita ‘Bhagavad Gita Jashi Ahe tashi’ were distributed among all. This commentary is easy to read and understand as it contains translation and purport in local language. It’s been said that Bhagavad Gita has all answers to life problems.

Deputy superintendent of Harsul Jail B D Rao, jail officer Chandrakiran Tayade, Megha Kadam and Kailas Kale were present. On behalf of ISKCON Rukmini Raman Prabhu, Sridhar Priya Prabhu, Satyabhama Pran Prabhu, Giridhari Govind Prabhu and Manisha Chate were present.
