A grand forest park being constructed in the Deolai area is set to soon become a new recreational attraction for citizens, especially children. The bhoomipujan of this ambitious project, to be developed by the Maharashtra Forest Department with an estimated cost of ₹9 crore, was performed on Sunday on the occasion of Forest Day by social justice minister and guardian minister Sanjay Shirsat.

The Deolai forest park project will significantly add to the city’s green cover and provide citizens with excellent facilities to spend time in the lap of nature. The park will especially offer a blend of play, education, and nature experience for children, and is being developed as an ‘environment education centre’. Municipal commissioner G. Shreekanth, deputy conservator of forests Suvarna Mane, along with several forest department officials and staff, were present on the occasion. This forest park is expected to serve as a ‘green relaxation space’ for the citizens of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and is being seen as an eco-friendly step in the city’s development, enhancing its beauty. The play equipment previously installed in the earlier park had been damaged; new play equipment has now been installed.
