The Shinde Sena, led by MP Sandipan Bhumre and MLA Vilas Bhumre, has once again established its undisputed dominance over local self-government bodies in Paithan tehsil. In the election held for the posts of chairperson and vice-chairperson of the Paithan Panchayat Samiti, the Shinde Sena secured victory. Vaishali Vinod Bombale was elected chairperson, while Sanjay Ashok Laghane was elected vice-chairperson unopposed. Following this win, there has been widespread discussion in political circles of the tehsil about the organisational strength of the Bhumre father-son duo.
In the recently held Panchayat Samiti elections in the tehsils, the Shinde Sena had achieved a historic victory in 17 out of 18 constituencies, clearing the path to power. On Monday, a special meeting was organised in the Panchayat Samiti hall to elect the chairperson and vice-chairperson. The time for filing nomination forms was between 10 am and 12 noon.
During this period, Vaishali Bombale from Dhorkin constituency filed the only nomination for the post of chairperson, while Sanjay Laghane from Ranjangaon Khuri constituency filed the sole nomination for the post of vice-chairperson. After scrutiny, both nominations were declared valid, and returning officer Pravin Phulari announced that both had been elected unopposed.
As soon as the official declaration was made, Shiv Sena workers present in the Panchayat Samiti premises burst firecrackers and raised loud slogans in celebration. Present on the occasion were APMC chairperson Raju Bhumre, Shinde Sena district deputy chief Vinod Bombale, Zilla Parishad member Shivraj Bhumre, Jayakwadi Sangharsh Samiti president Appasaheb Nirmal, Shivaji Bank chairman Ravindra Kale, Rajendra Tambe, Dada Galande, Alka Gojre, Bhausaheb Gojre, Jyoti Kakade and other office-bearers and workers.

Immediately after the announcement, MLA Vilas Bhumre felicitated the newly elected chairperson and vice-chairperson and extended his best wishes for their future work. Speaking on the occasion, the newly elected office-bearers expressed their resolve to prioritise development works in the tehsil.
Naib tehsildar Kailas Bahure and Vaishali Kamble assisted in successfully conducting the election process.
