Aurangabad, May 20:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administrator and the chief executive officer (CEO) of Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL) A K Pandey today announced that the development and beautification works to be carried out in the vicinity of the city's pride Bibi ka Maqbara will be done under Smart City Project.

Pandey along with the civic officers today visited the site and inspected the surrounding of the mausoleum including the proposed construction of DP road leading from Aurangabad Caves, sprawling garden to be developed in front of the monument, erection of electric poles, illumination of the site, etc. He also inspected the tower of Naher (locally called bamba) which is situated on the east side of the Maqbara.

The deputy superintending archaeologist of Archaeological Survey of India (Aurangabad Circle) Dr. Biri Singh apprised the details to the administrator. The additional commissioner R P Nikam, city engineer S D Panzade, head of Solid Waste Management cell Nandkishore Bhombe, executive engineer (electrical section) A B Deshmukh, assistant director of town planning (ADTP) Jayant Kharwadkar, ASCDCL's project managers Sneha Bakshi and Sneha Nair were present on the occasion.
